The MD Chill Black 14U (Black) participated in the 9-10 April 2011 USSSA sponsored 11th Annual Spring Fling. The tournament was held at the Fairland Regional Park in Laurel, MD.

Due to rain all game were canceled on Saturday. On Sunday the MD Chill Black started the day very slow, but put together a string of hits in the 5th and 6th and added to solid pitching to come away with a very impressive 4-2 win against a very solid Great Fall Sharks team.

In the second game of the day the MD Chill Black continued making a statement by adding some solid pitching to an already tough defense to come away with a hard fault 4-2 win over the mighty Churchfield Lightening team.

The third game of the day the MD Chill Black kept their foot on the petal and broke out the big sticks and came away with another very impressive 8-0 win over a strong Olney Cougars team.

In the fourth and final game of the day the MD Chill Black put together their best all around game of the day by showing very smart base running, solid hitting, great pitcing, and showing an increase level of communication to come away with a very impressive 8-2 win over a very strong Delaware Diamonds team.

The MD Chill ended the tournament placing 2nd in the USSSA sponsored 11th Annual Spring Fling tournament.

Team members include Madison Vicendese, Imani Torregano, Kelly Lynch, Gracie Logan, Kayla Clark, Payton Pross, Madison Churchill, Breanna Casper, Tiffany Bearns, Ashley Prince, Courtney O’Neill (planning to attend Howard High School), and Christy Shelby.

The MD Chill Black 14U (Black) participated in the 2-3 Oct 10 USSSA sponsored Delmarva Fall Qualifier tournament.  The tournament was held at the H. S. Parker Complex in Salisbury, MD.

The MD Chill Black started the day with great defense, but could not find the right offense and dropped the first game against the Delaware Diamonds White.

In the second game of the day the MD Chill Black focused on putting the right mixture of great pitching, excellent hitting, and solid defense to come away with a very impressive 12-4 with over an older Wicomico Dragons team.

The third game of the day the MD Chill Black continued with precision pitching, flawless defense, and excellent base running to come away with another 10-2 victory over a solid Delaware Express team.

The MD Chill started Sunday very slow, but continue with the hard nose defense.  Staying focus and sticking to the game plan the MD Chill scored six runs in the final inning to come away with a well deserved 6-5 victory over a very tough Delaware Diamond Blue team.

In the final game on Sunday the MD Chill found themselves in a hard nose battle against a very tough and older Delaware Diamond Blue team.  The MD Chill kept the game close, but could not hold the lead to come away with the win.
