Va Lady Eagles(16) 2011 18u Fast Pitch Nationals Champions
Va Beach, Va. July, 24, 2011 - For the second time in as many years, temperatures were blistering as fast pitch softball teams converged on Virginia Beach for the 2011 Fast Pitch Nationals. With a heat index above 100 degrees and actual temperatures at or near 100 for the four day event, it was a test of ability and stamina for the winning teams to make it through the tournament.
The Virginia Lady Eagles 16u team took the 18u division with a decisive final victory over the Lake Country Crushers. Much of this team has been together since they were 12 and they showed their cohesiveness throughout the weekend.
Galaxy took the 16u championship with a big win over Rampage. Steve Small's team won the 14u in 2010 and many of those same players are on the 16u team. Galaxy was perfect in the playoffs, beating Rampage twice.
The 14u division was won by the Northern Neck Rage. They beat Blue Ridge Sudden Impact in the Championship. And the Blaze rolled in the 12u division beating Rampage for that title.
